Software Development Project Manager

ALK is currently looking to add a Software Development Project Manager to our team. As Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the development, testing, and release of a family of software solutions. In this position, you will be the key development interface for Business Development, Corporate, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Operations, Sales and Technical Support. Responsibilities include the development and maintenance of product schedules and road maps, tasking allocated resources, and the specification and design of product features.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent degree.
  • 5+ years related experience with a proven track record of success delivering consumer-oriented software.
  • Possess excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Solid understanding of the SDLC using industry standards to achieve milestone deliveries
  • Should have a solid background in technology (Application development - WinCE or embedded device experience a plus).
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent problem solving abilities.
  • Must work well on a team and be a strong leader.
  • Possess advanced PC skills, including thorough knowledge of MS Project or equivalent.
  • Must work well under pressure, be flexible, and meet deadlines

Description: Designs, writes, develops, modifies, debugs, and implements software programming applications for transportation logistics. Participates in product testing. Generally focused on: Product installation scripts; User Interface programming; large-scale data manipulation; map rendering through graphics. You will participate in all aspects of the development life cycle.

Requirements:

Technical Support Analyst

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and help users solve problems with products sold by ALK.
  • Authorize and enter orders for warranty returns and exchanges.
  • Answer customer phone calls and respond to emails.
  • Assist with usability testing of ALK products.
  • Record and report software bugs and usability problems to product managers for corrective action.

GIS Data Interns

ALK is currently looking for several GIS Data Interns to add to our team. As a GIS Data Intern, you will work with the Data Team on updating our proprietary “in car navigation” software. Your responsibilities include collecting data and imputing it into our proprietary software while simultaneously updating a database.

The data to be collected is truck and recreational vehicle restriction and oversized information that is used to change truck and recreational vehicle routes across the United States. You will be able to see first-hand how your findings improve current truck and recreational vehicles routes. State fuel tax auditors, state troopers, the United States Department of Defense, RV customers and over 22,000 shippers and carriers in North America are among the many customers that will benefit from your work.

As a GIS Intern, you will gain valuable experience working with a company that creates car, truck and rail navigation software solutions for use in North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and Oceania.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an Associates or BS program in Geography, Civil Engineering, Environment Studies or other technical field with an emphasis in GIS use and development.
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to work both independently and in a group.

We are currently looking for a Software Engineer to join our PC*MILER development team. We are looking for a well-rounded software engineer with a solid foundation in programming and the ability to work through complex problems. You will be working with a team of 8-10 programmers.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in C++ and C# in a Windows development environment
  • Experience with Web Services, XML, and SOAP

  • Maintenance of an existing SOA application at both the C# and C++ levels
